Roofhaven is a residential construction company with a specialisation in roof recovery systems, grounded in a legacy of prefabricated garaging and high-end architectural new builds. In 1956, Ron and Alice immigrated from England and a few years later set up Carhaven Buildings Ltd. They developed a series of prefabricated garages that could be built in a day. Over the next 30 years, Carhavan built garages all around Auckland. At their peak, they were building up to ten garages a week.

Tim, Ron and Alice’s grandson, left school and completed a building apprenticeship with Barton Builders. They specialized in high-end, architectural new builds in and around Auckland’s West Coast. In 2005, Barton Builders won the PlaceMakers Supreme Award and the Registered Master Builders House of the Year – Residential Award.

We like to think that Roofhaven combines the best of both worlds: a focus on cost efficiency and replicability, while maintaining the highest architectural and construction standards.
